Ali Boxxer Stem

Had my hands on an e13 direct mount boxxer stem for a little over a month now, so I thought I might put my thoughts out there for those looking for a direct mount boxxer stem. To kick it off, here is the specifications and features of this stem.

FEATURES

Length: Adjustable 45mm - 55mm

Clamp: Adapts from 31.8mm to 25.4mm with included shims

Materials: 7075 T6 construction

Weight:175 grams (w/hardware) 200 grams with shims for 25.4 diameter bars.

Colour: Black

But how do they ride you ask?

My first real hit out for the stem was at the Thredbo National Round 3. Despite my lesser than average times over the weekend, one thing was apparent over my old stem, which was the noticeable lack of flex in the bar/stem. This added no end of confidence to this punter, however what I found to be the greatest bonus, was that after several unplanned excursions over the bars, there was none of the usual twisted bars associated with standard stems. Compared to my previous set up, the ali stem has removed a considerable amount of weight (and 2” of steerer tube) from the front of my bike, however feels stronger and stiffer. To top it off, for those so inclined, the stem looks the goods and will add to the bling factor of any bike. All up this piece of art gets the double thumbs up and a 9/10 (would have been higher if it came in anodised red)
