What may be Missouri's first-ever tweed ride is coming to Kansas City on April 3rd, The tweed ride phenomenon is hititng cities like Boston, Washington, San Francisco, Philadelphia, Sacramento, and Chicago. 

America's Health Rankings places the direct medical cost of obesity to Missourians at $1.9 billion per year, or about $754 for each adult Missourian.

On average, that's $450 per year per Missouri adult.

It's also the second highest per-capita cost of any state in the nation--behind only West Virginia at $479 per year per adult.

Ciclovia--the street festival where cities close down miles of streets and residents come out to enjoy walking, bicycling, scootering, skating, and all other manner of fun physical activity--is coming to Missouri in a big way this summer.

Bicycle Advocates Braving Winter Conditions to Ride to Jefferson City to Speak with their Representatives at the Capitol

The Midwest Bike Expo and Swap Meet is Sunday, January 31st, 2010, 10am-3pm in Collinsville, IL. The Expo is organized by the St. Louis Regional Bicycle Federation at the Gateway Center (1 Gateway Drive, Collinsville, Illinois).

The Freakonomics blog is covering a research that seems to confirm what many bicycle advocates have been saying for years: Laws requiring helmets while bicycling reduce the amount of bicycling.

Roller races have become very popular over last couple of years, including a very active series in Kansas City. This weekend the KC Sprints crew is on the road for an event in Springfield. 

Roller races, or goldsprints, are stationary bike races that pit two riders against each other for fun and prizes.  It's a lot of fun, and much more of work out than you can imagine.
